Jacqui du Toit is a South African-born performer, storyteller, and arts educator based in Ottawa. With a B.A. in Theatre and Performance from the University of Cape Town, her career spans acting, writing, directing, and puppetry, with performances worldwide.
She co-owns The Origin Arts & Community Centre and serves on the board of the Great Canadian Theatre Company. Through 8th Generation Storytelling, she shares African storytelling across Canada and South Africa, empowering women and youth. Jacqui was nominated for Outstanding Female Performance at the Prix Rideau Awards and the Capital Critics Awards for The Hottentot Venus – Untold, which she wrote, directed, and performs in.
