Ladane Ali is an emerging film writer and director based in Ottawa. With a professional background rooted in the corporate and labor sectors, her career took a significant shift during the pandemic, sparking a newfound passion for storytelling.

Though the world of film and television can often seem inaccessible, her journey took a fortunate turn when she discovered the Digi 60 Filmmaker’s Festival, an artist-run film festival in Ottawa. This opportunity opened the door to experimenting with scriptwriting and filmmaking. Her first short film, Flush, premiered at the Digi 60 Film Festival in late 2024 and was selected for the International Black Diversity Film Festival in May, marking a pivotal moment in her creative career.
